What is Advocacy? Who can advocate? Why do we advocate? When should you advocate? What are types of advocacy?
At Walton Options, we are ready to help you find and understand the answers to all these questions and more during our brand new event. Advocacy 101 is part of a new series of learning events we are launching to educate and inspire persons with and without disabilities in the community around Advocacy.
Our first event is scheduled for Thursday November 16, 2017 from 6:00 pm- 7:30 pm at Augusta Office (Building A) at 948 Walton Way, Augusta, GA 30901. The event will be headed up by Walton Options’ very own Gaylon Tootle as he shares his own experiences of Advocacy and how he was able to find his voice about topics that impact him and his community. We will also have special guest speaker Mr. Bartholomew from Georgia Legal Services to provide more in-depth issues surrounding the basics of advocacy including the who, what, when, where, why and hows of advocating.
We invite you to join us for an evening of networking, light refreshments, and practical learning. Seating is limited. Please complete the online Event Brite form or contact Gaylon at 7065-724-65262 or email@example.com with questions or to register directly.
Accommodations for participants are available if made at least 10 days prior to the event. Please call 706-724-6262 to finalize details after registering.
