Instruction in how to live independently, called Life Skills Training, is offered in a group setting or individually.  Instruction includes such topics as rights and responsibilities as a person with a disability, personal financial planning, household management, personal health management, and how to access community support systems (e.g. transportation).

Highly qualified persons with disabilities offer support and encouragement in teaching people how to manage daily tasks to help them live independently.  Classes are often customized to meet that individuals needs.
