About Us

Serving the CSRA since 1994

Walton Options has provided services and resources to help people with all types of disabilities live independently within the community. As a private, non-profit, non-residential Center for Independent Living (CIL), we serve 16 counties in Georgia and 10 counties in South Carolina.

We believe all persons including those with disabilities, should be able to participate in their community. At Walton Options, we promote equality, inclusion and independence though Personal Choice, Community Access, Education and Employment. Our goal is to help each person on their personal journey to independence to find and utilize the necessary, available resources.

A Center of Resources

As one of over 400 Centers for Independent Living (CILs) in the United States, Walton Options is first and foremost a civil rights organization working to advance the independence of people with disabilities. To assist people with disabilities in living their lives independently in their home and communities, Walton Options offers services and resources based on our core values.

Walton Options became incorporated in Georgia in September 1994. As a non-profit 501(c)(3), we operate with a consumer-driven board of directors and a staff where over 51 percent are persons with significant disabilities providing our core services.

Core Services

Like CILs across the country, Walton Options offers five core services to our consumers. These services all work towards promoting personal choice, community access, education & employment.   Our Core Services include:

We are able to provide these services, information and resources through a variety of federal, state and community partners. In addition, we are supported by numerous private businesses, foundations & volunteers.

Service Areas

Because Walton Options covers the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA), we are in a unique position to offer services to counties in both Georgia and South Carolina. We have three office locations: Augusta, GA, North Augusta, SC and Walterboro, SC to assist our consumers in different areas.
