CSRA ADA 25 Celebration presented by Walton Options
CSRA ADA25 Celebration, May 27-30th
July 26, 2015 marks the 25th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Celebrations of the signing of the ADA by President George H.W. Bush on July 26, 1990 are taking place across the nation, including the CSRA.
To celebrate this 25th milestone, Walton Options for Independent Living has scheduled a series of events including National Legacy Bus Tour stops in the Augusta and Aiken Areas.
The celebration includes:
Wed May 27 Beyond Disability – Celebrating 25 years of the ADA with the GreenJackets
Featuring a variety of activities centered around celebrating the ADA during the baseball game.

The ADA and the ADA Amendments Act of 2008 (ADAAA) give civil rights protections to individuals with disabilities similar to those provided to individuals on the basis of race, color, sex, national origin, age, and religion. The ADA and ADAAA also assure equal opportunity for individuals with disabilities for access to businesses, employment, transportation, state and local government programs and services, and telecommunications.
Because the ADA has and continues to make a positive impact on the CSRA, we would like to have as many local businesses involved with our celebration as possible. All our events (except the GreenJackets game) are free and open to the public. Keep up to date with all our activities on Facebook and Twitter.
Pledge Your Support to the ADA
We are asking all those in the CSRA, whether they be individuals, businesses or organizations, to recommit to the continuance of the Americans with Disabilities Act throughout the community. All those who sign our pledge (individuals, organizations and businesses) will be listed on our website. Click here to see who has already signed the pledge.
We are also looking for support of every kind for our various events including donations of time/involvement at specific activities, in-kind donations and monetary donations. If you would like to be a supporter, please email our Special Project Coordinators for more details - Ann Campbell-Kelly
